THE Waterfront Hotel is about to undertake major refurbishment works, proprietor Alex Olmedo told Penguin News.
It will become a, “unique, high-end boutique accommodation option in Stanley,” he explained.
Rooms will be transformed to two junior suites and four larger, luxury en-suite bedrooms They are to be fully sound-proofed and insulated with a 42” television, telephone, mini-bar, safe and tea/coffee making facilities.
With Alex’s usual eye for modern style, they will be, “finished in a contemporary design style with local artwork, plush textiles and fabrics, the new rooms will have a cosy feel and the beds are the best in the world.”
Behind the scenes the introduction of a new software system means customers will be able to make online bookings and the hotel will provide free internet for paying guests.
Alex and his staff have attended training courses, exhibitions and events to provide career development, learn how to improve their marketing and ultimately to enhance the customer experience.
The Waterfront Hotel accommodation will be closed from the end of June to allow for refurbishment but the café remains open until the end of July. The brand-new look will be ready by October.
