Visiting original HMS Protector pilot tells of rescuing hero of Everest

FORMER helicopter pilot on the original HMS Protector (as remembered in stones on the Camber opposite Stanley) Michael Apps, and his wife Elizabeth, paid a visit to Stanley on Celebrity Eclipse this week. The couple, who had been to Long Island Farm for a shore excursion, were told by the owner Glenda Watson they should alert the newspaper to their presence – which happily they did.

Falklands public debate votes for 'dying with dignity'

AROUND 85% of those who attended a debate on ‘dying with dignity’ voted in favour of the concept in a straw poll held at the end of the meeting on Tuesday evening.
Thoughtful arguments on both sides were presented at the well attended debate held at the Court and Council Chamber.
