Falklands confident in continued access to EU markets post Brexit

BRITAIN’S intention to leave the single market as outlined in Prime  Minister Theresa May’s Brexit speech on Tuesday has generated some concerns for the Falkland Islands Government, but a Member of the Legislative Assembly indicated this week they are still confident all will be well for the Islands under post-2019 arrangements. 
MLA Michael Poole told Penguin News they believed “mutual self interest would win out and market access would continue.”

Falklands emotive Communications Bill won't be rushed through says FIG

THE Communications Bill 2016 was passed to Select Committee following its presentation to Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
Describing the subject of telecommunications as “very emotive,” Member of Legislative Assembly Roger Edwards in presenting the Bill said it had been “a long time coming,” but MLAs also assured it would not be rushed.
